Our Weekly Routine
Staff work together with parents to plan activities and resources to suit children's individual needs and interests. Each day, children have opportunities to play, explore and 'have a go' in all areas of learning, through a mixture of child initiated and adult led activities.
Here are just some examples of what we get up to at Rainbow's End:

Cooking:
Our cooking sessions encourage fine motor skill development, comprehension and listening skills as well as mathematical understanding. Once a term the children help to make lunch for everyone. This promotes healthy eating.
Our Extended Garden
Although the village hall is spacious, we also have our own extended garden thanks to the fundraising efforts of parents and local businesses. The children are able to access the garden every day, come rain or shine!

Understanding the World
Children at Rainbow's are encouraged to explore and think critically. We try to provide a wide variety of experiences for the children to develop their understanding and give them the opportunity to make links and form their own ideas.
Physical Education
As part of our continuous provision we use equipment such as hoops, cones, quoits, beanbags, balancing bars and a parachute to develop your child’s coordination and balance. Getting changed to go outside aids their development by teaching them to dress themselves and encouraging independence for school.
We also have indoor play equipment for days when the weather doesn't permit the children to play outside.

Arts and Crafts
There are daily craft/painting sessions: which are often based around the half-termly theme. Children are also given free reign to create their own master pieces and explore the skills needed to be creative.
Messy play is also encouraged to promote fine motor skills, exploration and sensory awareness.

Children are encouraged to use their creativity and imagination through a variety of large and small construction as well. Construction is a great opportunity for children to problem solve, plan and use mathematical language as well as learning how to work cooperatively with their peers.
Music
Most sessions involve singing and dancing to encourage the children to sing along with their favourite songs and to learn new ones. We also give them the opportunity to use instruments – tambourines, bells, xylophones, shakers and triangles. It really is music to their ears and develops their creative talents.
Technology
At Rainbow's, children have access to a variety of everyday technologies which we use to aid our learning e.g. torches, light boxes, led writing boards, programmable toys, digital microscopes etc.
